What is redecision?

Redecision work, developed by Bob and Mary Goulding, starts from a simple observation: many adult limitations are childhood decisions still in force. A child who decided “I will never ask for help” was solving a real problem with a child's resources. The decision worked. It is simply still running at forty, in a life where asking is safe and necessary.

Redecision is not arguing with the past. It is returning to the moment of the decision — with the facts, support and power of the adult you are now — and deciding anew, in a way the Child in you can actually hear. The change then shows itself plainly: a request made without rehearsing it twenty times, a no said without a week of guilt.
