Your ego-state profile: how to read it
Your egogram shows five bars — Controlling Parent, Nurturing Parent, Adult, Free Child, Adapted Child — each scored 0–100 from your own answers. Read it as a weather report, not a character verdict: it describes which states have been leading your communication lately, in the situations the statements ask about. Taken in a different season of life, the same person often draws a different sky.
Three reading rules help. First, look at neighbours, not just heights: a high Adapted Child beside a low Free Child tells a different story than either bar alone. Second, every state is a resource — “low” means quiet, not broken. Third, ask what the pattern costs and what it protects; both answers are usually true, and the second one explains why the pattern stays.
If you want to go further, the profile debrief walks through your chart together and ends with one practical contract. Or simply retake the profile in a few months and watch what moved — change you can see is change you can trust.
