Contract before change
Every engagement in this practice starts with a contract: a clear, mutual agreement on a reachable change, in plain words. Not “work on myself”, but “in the Monday meeting, I will state my estimate once, clearly, and not apologise for it”. The difference sounds small; it is the difference between a direction and a destination you can verify.
A good TA contract has four properties: it is mutual (both sides agree), it names observable change, it is within the client's own power, and it is legal and safe for everyone involved. Contracts also end arguments about progress: at the review, we simply look — did the agreed thing happen more often than before?
That is also why this practice is called Contract Counselling. The brand is the method: first we agree on what change means, then we work. If you are considering sessions, your free intro call is where the first draft of your contract gets written.
